Emma Stella-Hall

Veterinarian & Practice Owner (BVSc)

Meet Emma, our Practice Director!

After five years of dedicated planning and research, Emma has created our master-planned clinic. Emma's vision for Armstrong Creek Vet Practice is to provide a gold standard service, with our motto being "your pets are our priority".

Emma aims for the practice to provide our clients with a homely, nurturing and caring service, and to give your pets a fear free environment, with separate dog and cat consultation rooms to reduce the transfer of pheromones from one room to the other.

The local community is also extremely important to Dr. Stella-Hall and our team, and we are eager to build positive and supportive relationships with anyone who visits the clinic.

Alongside directing our clinic, Emma also practices large animal work in the equine field, and is the owner of our practice mascot, Daisy!

Kate Cochrane

Veterinarian and Hospital Director (BVSc)

In May 2022, we were lucky enough to have Dr Kate Cochrane join our team!

Dr Kate has worked in general practice in Geelong since 2008 and is a familiar face to many. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2002 with a special interest in Surgery and Oncology, and has continued to be a credit to the profession as she goes about her work with integrity and care.

Kate is a mum of two teenagers who genuinely love to hang out with her! She has a busy family life and regularly delegates chores to Hobbs, Duchess and Buzz the Boss.

As a colleague we can say that Kate is no slacker. She regularly bakes us cakes, cleans up after herself and shares her laughter generously. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience and approaches her clients and patients with kindness and compassion. We are fortunate to have Kate as a part of our team at Armstrong Creek Vet Practice.

Jeanette Armitage

Front Office Manager

Hailing from England, Jen learned her incredible organisational skills as a secretary/PA in London and South East England during the first half of her working life. Jen and her family turned their lives upside down when they moved to Australia, at which time Jen decided to try her hand as a receptionist in a Melbourne vet clinic.  Jen then spent 9 years with Bellarine Vet Practice starting as a Receptionist and soon promoted to Clinic Coordinator based at the Grovedale Clinic.  It was here that she learnt that her gift of the gab and a telephone voice that would make Siri jealous, were perfect for clinic life!

Clinic director, Emma, and Jen became fast friends through Jen’s equestrian eventing daughter Liberty’s love of horses. The family have welcomed Storm, a Clydie x Thoroughbred mare into the family and Jen can now add full time strapper and poo picker to her ever growing skill set.

You will be sure to encounter Jen’s friendly face in reception or buzzing about in hot pursuit of the vets, nurses or Emma with a list of jobs to be completed. She’s never too busy for a chat though!

Zara Meer

Veterinarian (BVSc)

Dr. Zara is the newest member to join our veterinary team full-time, starting with our clinic in July 2020. Zara grew up in South Africa and relocated to Australia in 2017.

In 2012, Zara graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and began her career working in small animal general practice. She has maintained a passion for cats and dogs and enjoys veterinary work that is varied with a focus on preventative medicine.

Zara has a special interest in medicine, and all things greyhound, with two beautiful hounds of her own. In her time outside work, she enjoys gardening, getting outdoors and exploring the wonders Australia has to offer.

Sarah

Registered Veterinary Nurse & Practice Manager (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing & Diploma in ECC)

Sarah is a not only a super nurse, but also a super mum so we share Sarah with her four little cherubs on a part-time basis.

Sarah is a nurse who has seen it all, spending a significant portion of her nursing career in the battlefields that are Emergency and Critical Care facilities. If your animal is having a really bad day we can assure you that you want Sarah on the floor, as her quick thinking and calm but assertive approach is what it takes to save a life.

Sarah is a farm girl at heart, who loves nothing more than a weekend away on her sheep and cattle rearing property in Broadford with the two and four legged family. When at home, Sarah is an active member of the local Armstrong Creek community. She values community spirit and also the importance of education and takes part in local daycare incursions that will inspire our future leaders and impart upon them an understanding of responsible pet ownership, pet health and safety around animals.

Meet Sarah's large boy, Fanta!

Laura

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Laura completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in November 2021 and joined our team after showing outstanding abilities as a student with us. She is a dedicated and hard-working nurse and joined the veterinary nursing profession following on from a career as a dental nurse. Laura has been a pleasure to welcome to our team, and will take good care of you and your pets if ever you need anything.

Sammy

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing)

Sammy started with Armstrong Creek Veterinary Practice in July 2021 as a Certificate IV Veterinary Nursing student, and quickly showed her dedication and natural abilities as a nurse, so needless to say, we employed her as a permanent member of the nursing team! She qualified in June 2022, and brings a very gentle and calming presence to the clinic.

Keely

Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV Vet Nursing)

Keely began her student placement with our team, and graduated her Certificate IV Vet Nursing in December 2022. Being such a hard worker, and fitting in perfectly with our team, we hired her as a full time nurse a few months ago! You will always find her out the back cuddling all the patients, and her calm and easy-going nature helps to put the animals at ease. Although she is great in all aspects of Vet Nursing, Keely has a particular interest in surgical nursing, and wildlife! Outside of work, she loves spending time at the gym, or playing with her three beautiful French Bulldogs. She also has two cats, and hopes to one day become a Staffy owner. If you see Keely around, make sure to say hello!

Daisy

Practice Mascot (Happy dog)

Introducing our practice mascot, Daisy.

Daisy is a wire-coat Jack Russell Terrier who spends her days shadowing Emma, our Practice Director, wherever she may go! You will likely get to meet Daisy during a visit to the clinic - she'll likely be lounging in the sun on the back of one of our comfy reception chairs, greeting you at the door, or chasing her prized squeaky toy around the clinic. She certainly brings us all a smile when she visits, and takes it upon herself to come and personally greet each of us (and ask for a treat) when she arrives!
